Former Midway Fc head coach Allen Gwangwara has joined Destiny Stars as an assistant coach to Rutherford Matondo who took over as head coach this year.

Gwangwara, who is rising through the ranks of lower league football said that the move to join Destiny Stars is a great feat in his coaching career considering that he will be working with a seasoned and experienced gaffer, Rutherford Matondo.

‘Destiny Stars is a local team here in Mutare and my moral is high because I’m a local boy. I am looking forward to learning a lot from this team and also considering that I will be working with a man who has been in the football circles for the better part of his life, Rutherford Matondo.’ Quizzed on his thoughts of his former team Gwangwara said his time at Midway was one to appreciate.

‘Midway is a very good team. I have good memories there, memories that I will not forget but football is a game of opportunities and growing, learning from the best. ‘

When contacted for a comment Destiny Stars head coach Rutherford Matondo said Gwangwara is an ambitious coach who for the little time he has known is keen to grow huge in football. ‘In football you meet a lot of player and coaches, that’s how it is and it’s good that I will be working with Gwangwara who does not only have the zeal to learn but to reach a better height in football.’
