ZANU PF apologises for slogans at National Youth Day

ZANU PF has issued a public apology to Zimbabweans following unexpeted chants made at Mushagashe Training Centre Masvingo Province. In a statement which was issued by secretary for information and Publicity Cde Christopher Mutsvangwa he said ZANU PF apologises for what happened at Mushagashe Training Centre.

ZANU PF would like to apologize to Zimbabweans for the unexpected utterances made at Mushagashe Training Centre in Masvingo Province, where a few senior members of the party coerced the crowd who attended the National Youth Day to chant the slogan [ 2030 VaMnangagwa vanenge vachipo],'' he said.

He went on to say the senior party members who took part in chanting the slogan acted on their own capacity and not on behalf of the party as a whole.

"Those senior party members who took part in the chanting of this slogan acted on their own volition and not on the party's behalf. It is regrettable that one of those who took part in rousing the unsuspecting crowd was our own party's Vice President Kembo Mohadi,''said Cde Mutsvangwa.

He mentioned that citizens should not follow this line of provocation in an already insecure country.

"This slogan shoud never have been chanted nor should any citizen follow this line of provocation in an already insecure country and dash the hopes of those who aspire to lead the country to prosperity after our Cde E.D Mnangagwa's term of office ends in 2028 or sooner to allow our new candidate to unite the party before starting his or her own campaign,''he said.

He said Zimbabweans and the international community must know that ZANU PF will follow the constitution of Zimbabwe.

"Zimbabweans and the international community must be rest assured that ZANU PF will abide by the constitution of Zimbabwe and will not attempt to meddle with it or modify it allow anyone to serve beyond two terms as the President of the country . A good reference point to our President of Zimbabwe ,the late Rorbert Gabriel Mugabe in 2017 when he attempted to create his own dynasty in Zimbabwe,''said Cde Mutsvangwa.
