Madzibaba Benji gives a speech at Howson Primary School
On Friday 21 November, 2025 at Howson Primary School in Goromonzi North Constituency the school held its annual Speech and Prize Giving Day and Madzibaba Benji gave the main speech of the day.
The pupils , parents , teachers and guests all gathered for the event. The pupils were excited to receive prizes from different categories.
"The school managed to build a 4 roomed house to ease acconmodation challenges of teachers. The school constructed temporary shelters for pupils that are learning outside," said Madzibaba Benji.
Madzibaba Benji in his speech said that the school furniture is inadquate and there are no laptops or computers. The school has a shortage of textbooks for the new curriculum and the school desperately needs textbooks.
"We want to support you pupils on your Speech and Prize Giving Day. This is why we went to war so that you can go to school," said the village headman Sabhuku Mbizi
One of the Grade 4 pupils Nokutenda recited a poem and encouraged children to listen to their parents.
Another poem by a pupil said that young people should abstain from drugs and substance abuse. This is the same message that was echoed by the guest Madzibaba Benji.
Mr Karimazondo the headmaster at Howson Primary School indicated that there are challenges that the school is currently facing and he said the institution wants textbooks for the new curriculum and internet.
Madzibaba Benji congratulated the pupils that won prizes. He further said that prize winners were role models of the school and we celebrate your success.
"To our school pupils , I would like to say this : you are capable of achieving greatness and you are capable of making a difference in the world. Do not be afraid to dream big , to take risks and to push yourself outside your comfort zone ," said Madzibaba Benji.
