Lewis Hamilton wins on home soil
Seven time world champion Lewis Hamilton took his winning tally to 109 on Sunday on home soil under what many racing fanatics called a 'harsh race' dominated by wet and dry conditions.
The build up to the phenomenal victory started on Saturday, when the qualifying race saw the Mercedes AMG Petronas taking the front row. George Russell on pole and Lewis on Second position.
It had already created a buzz on social media with many anticipating Mercedes 1 and 2.
Came race day on, it started a bit sketchy with Mercedes having some pit stop faults that saw Mclaren's Oscar Piastri taking the lead on part of the race.
More trouble came when Lewis also pitted and lost some ground on the race. With rain pouring down, saw many drivers losing grip and sliding on the track, but for Mclaren's Lando Norris whose car had some grip went on and took the lead.
As bad luck came back, Mercedes' George Russell had to retire early after the car had cooling problems. This left Lewis on his own to fight off Lando Noris and Red Bulls' Max Verstapen.
With 12 laps to go till race end, Lewis on second position passed Land Norris with help from DRS. He went on to lead till the end.
He left Max with +1 second and took the win which saw him break down in tears as he passed the flag.
With this win, Lewis breaks his own record and many others which include most wins in a single circuit, with 9 in Silverstone.
The next race is at Hungarian Grand Prix on July 19 to 21 in Hungaroring, Mogyorod.
